Zodiac signs

I've been reading up on zodiac signs, horoscopes, astrological forecasting and the what-not recently and i am surprised to say that I find a grain of truth in some of the stuff that is written. At least for myself.

I'm a CANCER (I always feel kinda weird saying that). I remember the first time I found out about it. I read the dates wrong and mistook myself for a LEO since my birthday is pretty close to the cutoff between the two. I was initially disgruntled about being a lion since it seemed kinda masculine and generic, but i became even more disgruntled when I discovered that i was actually a crab. And worse, a crab who shared the same name as a serious, life-threatening disease.  

Anyways, I've recently resigned myself to my CANCER status since some of the supposed characteristics of CANCERIANS are quite fitting although some of the stuff, i'll admit is totally ridiculous.

For example, one website's description of what a CANCER person looks like:

Physically they are average to below average in height, with a fleshy body and short legs in comparison with the rest of them. Their hair is usually brown, their faces round, their complexions pale, their foreheads prominent, their eyes small and blue or gray in color, their noses short, perhaps upturned, and their mouths full. They sometimes walk clumsily.

Obviously, they just described a person who looks like a crab. How INSuLtingS! I have yet to meet a person, much less a CANCERIAN, who looks like that.

Anyways, I'd love to see if anyone else thinks their zodiac profile characteristics are pretty accurate too. Especially if you are a CANCER!

Oh yah, Lizamon and I got a kick out of this statement on wikipedia about water (me) and air (her) relationships:

"Water signs are supposed to have strong aversity, even hatred, for air signs, whose personalities they regard as shallow, uncaring, cold, and excessively worldly, though sometimes an air sign can be the yin to a water sign's yang (thus creating a great friendship)."

Some lady tried to steal my money

BiZARRe... but perfectly fitting in berkeley.

There I was getting some money from the BOA by the Ghetto when some lady rushes in on me- taking me totally by surprise... she says: "MY MONEY" and tries grabbing at the money slot - except my money hadn't come out yet.

If you don't know already,  I am an incredibly slow thinker. My mind works about as fast as a snail runs. SLOWLY. But, something about the words "MONEY" triggered an andrenaline rush to my mind.... and the realization that in about half a second this lady was going to run off with my money. I had no desire to chase her down Durant. I could already see the visual images of it in my mind- us grappling over a $20 dollar bill- people stopping to stare at us.

Anyways, I've never reacted faster in my life. It was as if someone had told me, "I am going to steal Wion." That was the level of urgency. I slammed my hand down on the money slot and told her firmly, "Actually it's NOT. I just put my card in."

She looked confused as I took my money, quickly removed my card, and left. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw her go to another ATM machine (without a person in it thankfully).

Now, there are only two possible explanations for her behavior (both of which flashed through my mind when I was trying to comprehend what she meant by "MY MONEY"). 1) She used the machine before me and accidently left her money there. 2) She is a crazy hobo woman who is trying to steal my money (note: she didn't look like a hobo)

Whatever the truth was, I'm glad I have MY money and quick reflexes.

CalMail Acct Working!

For some bizarre reason, my calmail acct broke down- around March 29. Now, a week and a half later, it's magically functioning again! I CAN NOW ACCEPT MAIL!!! It's amazing how incapacitated one becomes without a functioning calmail acct - or more generally, how reliant we are on the internet as a form of communication.

I still think it's weird that I can remember a time when the INTERNET did not exist for the masses. It makes me feel old, but kinda priviledged since such great jumps in technology are occurring in my lifetime and i get to experience the changes. =)
